Catching up, once again…

Things of note of late: We finally resolved the 10M Yagi problem with the C-19XR at AA4VV. It was pretty simple, once we got the beam back on the ground. All of the 1/2-inch pieces of the 10M elements were the wrong dimension! So, naturally, it wasn’t resonant on 28mHz. Once we got replacement parts, & re-assembled things, it works perfectly. The VSWR is very good, 1.2:1 & Tom is happy. I see lots of spots from him on the Cluster, so he’s apparently having a good time.

Yesterday, Joe & I stopped off at K4ATX’s & made further progress on his tower. Kim should have the DB-18 Yagi finished this week, & we’ll be able to get his installation done. Once we put up the beam, it’s just a matter of getting a DitchWitch in there & trenching from the tower to the house & installing the Heliax, etc.

Found a nice cabinet on craigh’s list, for tool & parts storage. Spent a couple hours chatting up the seller this afternoon–Greg Franklin, over in Indian Trail. An ME, with a very nice shop, enjoyed the visit. Only question now, is how to unload the cabinet, which is very, very heavy. If I can get it into my little storage building, it’ll go a long way to making it more useful.

Stay tuned…
