Day ONE in Texas…

Arrived at K5MR’s early this morning, walked around looking at things, thinking about the workload, et cetera. Steve arrived shortly after, & we discussed various aspects of the work to be done. We began by disconnecting all the phasing lines running up the various towers, & so forth. I took down at un-used sidearm mount, & then it was time to head to DFW airport to pick up W2GD. A short break for lunch on the trip back from the airport, where we hashed over the work once more, now with TWO points of view to consider! We spent a fair amount of time tugging the LDF4 & LDF5 cable out of the hard Texas soil. Tomorrow we get the Yagis & towers ready (as much as possible) for the cranes, which begin arriving Tuesday. And I must spend some time talking with commercial motor freigh companies, hopefully finding a way to get all the materials shipped to N VA.

stay tuned…
