It’s a cold day in February…

With ice, snow, some wind, & no relief in sight here in the Carolinas. A far cry from last week, when Joe & I “escaped” to Florida. We stopped off in Jacksonville to takedown SK K9RB’s station (two towers), & then headed on to West Palm for some repairs at W1MBB.

And then, surprise surprise, we managed to attend Ham-Cation in Orlando! I truly enjoy this hamfest, not only because the WX is often so much nicer than what we’re experiencing at home, but I usually manage to find one or two good buys, plus get to the Florida Contest Group’s Friday night dinner, hooking up with some contest cronies. All in all, a good trip.

For those readers who know of my XYL’s trials ‘n tribulations with atrial fibrillation, I’m happy to report she got a pacemaker installed this morning, & everything seems to be working, well, perfectly. As I understand it, they set the rate a tad high at first, & then lower it progressively shortly thereafter. Marti is perfectly steady at 80BPM. A very long way from last week’s 222BPM craziness for a while, or the 47BPM which jumped in & out prior to that.  Fingers crossed here, or as I like to say:

stay tuned…
