As a former antenna rigger for the Navy, I know how important storage areas are for your hardware. Field storage is even harder to protect.

Neat little "wildlife" cameras just showed up in the local "Rural King", all camoflaged and everything, lots of picture storage. They can be set up to take periodic pictures in all situations, and some have motion detecting triggering of the camera. Used by hunters to scout areas looking for that prize whitetail deer trophy, or Sasquatch. Also cameras would be darn handy to gather evidence for a civil suit to recover cost and damages from stolen property, as well as the criminal charges. Ask any lawyer.

Publishing the pictures on YouTube and sending the link to the local paper sometimes generates interesting investigative reporting and stakeouts. Imagine the local cops as part of the problem, they dislike to arrest these "recycling" thieves and have their families starve while they are waiting trial. The dropped and recovered cell phone may be due to the fact that a deputiy's hands were full of "evidence", too.

Good luck. I won't even pick my nose or scratch my ass in the woods anymore because of these cameras, big brother has arrived.

Don,

Just got your book today---looks great! Know anybody that has about four sections of Rohn 65g? I have 4 and a half (tower cut in half...suppose somebody wanted to use it as the concrete base--would prefer a tapered base..) sections of 65g..and all the used tower dealers want arm/leg/first-born for sections..

Glenn: Sure, just use my email adr
k4za at juno dot com
& should be good to go.

Thefts have slowed way down, although some small hand-carry type things keep getting stolen
from some apparent pals of the two guys now in prison....turnbuckles, EQ plates, big bolts, etc.
stolen while I was working out in IL/IN, for instance.

Congrats on getting licensed! It's a swell hobby, even after 50 years...~! 73 Don K4ZA
