Update, thanks, & just general info…

  1.  Trip to Ohio to get my Mother’s house ready to go on the market proved interesting, to say the least. While I was painting the front porch, a young guy stopped by to say he’d heard the house might be coming on the market. Spent some time showing him around, etc. He brought his banker by the following day (a Saturday, no less!) & agreed to my asking price. Was able to sell home as-is, with furnishings, etc.  A real win-win for each of us.

2)  Several readers wrote, called, or sent emails sharing condolences regarding my Mother’s passing last month. To all of you, thanks so much. I appreciate the readershp, as well as the shared sympathies. It WAS a trying event, something I thought I was prepared for, but the emotional realities were certainly way different than the intellectual reactions I had structured for myself.

3) Please, if you wish to contact me for whatever reason, simply send me a direct email. Simply use k4za@juno.com which bypasses the blog page & I’ll see it much quicker than if your using the “contact k4za” button here. Or call my cell: 704 408 7948. If I am unable to answer the phone, it reverts to voicemail & I’ll call back when I’m able.

4)  Recent jobs included a  trip to W9PA, where I encountered my first ever Riverview Welding tower, manufactured in New Philadelphia, OH. I’ve long heard about these beasts (built using water pipe!) & climbing & working on it was, to put it mildly, no fun. I more-or-less specialize in Rohn guyed towers, & I can climb those with my eyes closed, because my muscle memory makes it easy. This baby, while it appears to be uniform, is just “enough” out of symmetry, to require you to look for each foot & handhold as you climb. Other than that, the only hassle was the WX, which was, again putting it mildly, hot. But all got done & Dave seemed happy to be back on the air.

5)  Trying to finish up the AN Wireless tower for W4TJE–the Heavy Duty 50 w/my added Rohn 45G top section to get us to 70-feet. Somehow, discovered I did “something’ to pinch my sciatic nerve, which caused some considerable pain. Finally saw the doctor yesterday & got some steroids, which knock the pain down all right, but make me woozy, as my Mom used to say. So, trying to do ground work for a few days while this supposedly heals itself.  It’s always sumpin, eh Roseanne…?

stay tuned…
