Dashed up North of Callao, VA on Wednesday afternoon, arriving at N4HB’s new home. Thursday found us up and at ’em early, putting up 50 feet of 45G and 30 feet of 25G.
I had had the 45G regalvanized here locally and we experienced considerable problems in mating the sections. I had to resort to pulling them together with the Lug-All three times! But they are beautiful and should lasf forever. Henry’s son Will helped haul them up. Henry’s about to have hip replacement surgery on Monday, and we wanted to get the towers up beforehand. They still have about 4-6 inches of snow on the ground, the temps were cool, and it was raining by 3PM. Luckily I came down the last tower by 4PM.
Off to Ohio tomorrow for visits and some tower work for old Mad River Radio Club pals.
HNY (as they say on CW, or Morse Code). Meaning, Happy New Year! 2011 is shaping up to be another “interesting” year, indeed!
The spam posts/comments continue to pour in. Nearly 100 this week. What a PITA they are, but inevitable it seems.
stay tuned….
