And I certainly deleted every g-d one of them! The spam stuff from this blog is just annoying as hell. Every single one of them is tagged “Hire K4ZA,” which is the first clickable link on the webpage. I’ll have to speak with Scott about perhaps some sort of stronger or better filter, et cetera.
For those of you who may be following (or even totally un-aware) the trials ‘n tribulations we’ve waded through of later regarding my xyl’s back surgery issue, this final wrapup.
Marti had surgery on December 11th, during which two discs were fused, to hopefully eliminate the back & leg pain she suffered. During the procedure, her dura (which surrounds the spine) was nicked or otherwise damaged, & she lost a small amount of spinal fluid, requiring her to lie totally flat for the next week or so. During this process, she contracted pneumonia, which according to the medical folk, is very, very common. Then Friday night (the 14th), her heartrate soared to 170BPM & her blood pressure fell very low. So they rushed her to the cardiac unit across the street in Presbyterian Hospital. After three X-rays (nil), they finally gave her an MRI, which showed there was a blood clot in her left lung. After a few days, the pneumonia & clot seemed to be under control, but she was basically as weak as a kitten, so they recommended she be sent to rehab. So, once again, another transfer, this time to Mercy Hospital. She’s supposed to be released today. In literal minutes, in fact. The rehab does seem to have been time/effort well spent, as she’s up & around & seemingly able to take care of herself. Which is a good thing, as I am back on the road tomorrow to a tower project up in VA which must be completed before the end of the month!
I feel pretty helpless regarding all the medical stuff anyhow. Some might even label me cynical about a lot of it. But, as one of my old friends is wont to say: Don’t get me started.
stay tuned….
