Off to NY to hook up with climbing partner W2GD, where we are faced with yet another OptiBeam failure to resolve.
Another big antenna (18-6), which shows intermittent problems on 20M only, making for a real trouble-shooting nightmare, as all the elements are fed together, directly, from a pair of square “phasing tubes,” which mount underneath each element….
We’re going to try performing this magic in the air, for client N2QV. Should be interesting, dramatic, fun-filled, possiblly very difficult, & maybe even dangerous. But hey, we’re professionals! As I like to say:
