Thursday morning’s work

Earlier this year, Jim, KI4DH and I were both pretty disappointed to find the VSWR relatively high on the newly-installed G6 for his 440 mHz repeater. With no adjustments possible, it was a simple fact of life we had to accept. But Jim contacted Newtronics, and bless their hearts, they designed, built and tested a new antenna cut specifically for his repeater frequency.

I re-installed the new G6 yesterday morning. Foggy, super high humidity, but absolutely dead calm, so everything off without a hitch, in record time, and the new antenna shows almost no standing wave.

Still working on out-fitting the new van (shelves and storage locations, etc.). Did another SK site-survey takedown late yeterday with AA4VV, which we will hopefully get to next month.

stay tuned…
